අ ජීව, a. lit. lifeless, dead, පණනැති; ugly, hideous, grim, horrible, disfigured, විරූප, ඉතා අවලක්ෂණ.

අ ජීවකයා, n. one who has killed (his passions), viz. naked H. mendicant. whose nakedness is supposed to prove it.

අ ජීවකරනවා, v.t. to make ugly, &c., deface, disfigure, deform, විරූප කරනවා.

අ ජීවකවම, අ ජීවතාව, n. ugliness, &c., විරූපකම, මහත් අවලක්ෂණකම.

අ ජීවික, අ ජීවී, a. lifeless, dead, පණනැති, මළ.

අ රූපකරනවා, v. t. to deface, disfigure, deform, අවලක්ෂණ—අජීව—කරනවා.

අක්ෂර ජීවකයා, n. one who lives by writing, scribe, clerk, ලිපිකරුවා.

අටඟ මග, n. (අට, අග portion, section), the eightfold way to Nirvāna, i. e. the way embracing eight sections, viz. — 1. සම්‍යක් දෘෂ්ටිය, right view, orthodoxy. 2. සම්‍යක් සංකල්පනාව, right volition or determination. 3. සම්‍යක් වචනය, right speech. 4. සම්‍යක් කර්‍මන්තය, right action. 5. සම්‍යක් ආජීවය, right living or livelihood. 6. සම්‍යක් ව්‍යායාමය, right effort. 7. සම්‍යක් සමෘතිය, right remembrance or contemplation of the past. 8. සම්‍යක් සමාධිය, right meditation.

අණය, n. life, පණ, ජීවනය.

අනතුරු අත්බැව, n. (අත් E. ආත්ම, බැව state), the very next living state, the next life. මීට පසු ජීවිතය.

අනන්තර භවය, n. the birth or existence immediately following, ඊළඟ or මීටපසු ජීවිතය.

අනු ජීවක, අනු ජීවි, a. (අනු with), living with, attending upon, serving, අතවැසි, සේවක.

අනු ජීවකයා, n. a dependant, servant, අතවැසි මෙහෙකරුවා; comrade, companion, සහකා රයා, යහළුවා,

අල්පායුසය, n. short life, fewnass of years, ලුහුඬු ජීවිතය.

ආජීව, a. straight, කෙලින්, සෘජු; honest, deceitless, අවංක.
