ත්‍රි·භවය, n. the three different existences or conditions through which all must pass before attaining Nirvāna, viz. the Kāma, the Rūpa and the Arūpa states. The first is a state subject to passions, and includes both human and celestial beings or gods so-called; the second is a state in which the passions have been exterminated by asceticism and only a spiritual body remains, which state exists in the ten Brahma worlds; in the third or Arūpa state there remains only the pure invisible spirit. This state immediately precedes Nirvāna or the complete extinction which Buddhism teaches.

දාන·සේතුව, n. highroad or bridge of offerings, meta. the road to Nirvāna: almsgiving and offerings being amongst the chief means of attaining it.

නි·රෝධ·සමාපත්තිය, n. the eighth stage of religious practice for the purpose of attaining Nirvāna. It is a state of abstract religious meditation in which the senses and passions have been subdued and all desire has ceased.

නිස්සරණධ්‍යාසය, n. intention of attaining Nirvāna, නිවන් දකින අදහස.

බෝධ්‍යංග, n. pl. (බෝධි අංග), Buddha attributes or requisites for attaining Buddhaship, viz. the following seven: සමෘතිය, remembrance, ධර්‍මවිචය, investigation of religious truth, වීර්‍ය්‍යය effort, ප්‍රීතිය joy, ප්‍රශ්‍රබ්ධිය mental tranquillity, සමාධිය concentrated meditation, උපේක්‍ෂාව impassiveness, stoicism.

මේධංග, n. (මේධා, ග going, attaining), wise nan, one who has attained understanding (of religion and its advntages), ප්‍රඥාවන්තයා.

මෝක්ෂෝපායයා, n. one who employs the means of attaining Nirvàna, ascetic, devotee, තාපසයා, ශ්‍රාවකයා.

මෝක්‍ෂ·ඥානය, n. B., knowledge of the means of attaining Nirvâna.

මෝ‍‍ක්‍ෂෝපාය, n. (මෝක්‍ෂ උපාය), means of attaining Nirvàna, නිවනට පැමිණීමේ උපාය or මාර්‍ගය.
