අත පසු, a. delayed, backward.

කටපයාදිය, n. (ක, ට, ප, ය, ආදිය). A mnemonic system of letters nsed as numerals, කටපය being the first column, thus: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 ක ඛ ග ඝ ඬ ච ඡ ජ ඣ ඤ ට ඨ ඩ ඪ ණ ත ථ ද ධ න ප ඵ බ භ ම ය ර ල ව ශ ෂ ස හ ළ. Each letter in each column represents the figure under which it is placed. The above consonants must in reading be vocalized with vowels, though the vowels count for nothing. E. g., ගජකම, reading backwards=5 1 8 3.

පස්සට, ad. towards the back, backwards, back.

ප්‍රතිප·දර්‍ශනී, n. fem., lit. backward-looker, viz. woman, since Indian women often look with averted face, ස්ත්‍රී.

පිටි·පස්සට, ad. to the back, backwards, behind.

වි·ලෝම, a (වි against, ලෝම hair), against the hair or grain, backward, opposite, contrary, විරුද්ධ, ප්‍රතිකූල.

(සර්‍වතස්, භද්‍ර), a square temple or palace with door-ways facing the four cardinal points; Vishnu's carriage; a form of military array: mystical square diagram; a peculiar form of verse that gives the same words and sense whether the lines are read backwards or forwds or in some other directions.
