අ විකාර, a. unperverted, නොපෙරළුණු; undistracted, ව්‍යාකුල නැති; changeless, immutable, වෙනස්නොවන.

අත් මාරු ගසනවා, v. t. to beat (a drum) with hands and elbows, changing them about.

අත් මාරුව, n. changing the hands about.

අධි ෂ්ඨාන, a. fixed, immovable, අචල, නොසෙල් වෙන; changeless, immutable, වෙනස් නොවන.

අන්‍ය වර්‍ගකරනවා, v. t. to change to another kind; arith, reduce.

අන්‍ය වර්‍ගකිරීම, v. n. changing to another kind; arith. reduction.

ආ කෘත්‍යාදේශය, n. (ආකෘති ‍ආදේශය), change of form, transmutation, අත්‍යාකාරවීම.

ආ දේශකරනවා, v. t. gram. to substitute, exchange, commute, මාරුකරනවා.

ආ දේශවෙනවා, v. i. gram. to be exchanged for, මාරුවෙනවා.

ආ දේශ්‍ය, a. commutable, interchangeable, මාරු කළහැකිවූ.

උණ්ඩියල්, T., draft, bill of exchange.

ඍතු භේදය, ඍතු මාරුවීම, n. change of season, monsoon.

ඒ, n. The twelfth letter of the alphabet. Its sound is that of the preceding vowel lengthened: as a in Fade, but somewhat broader, the initial sound of it being maintained throughout, without changing into i as the English sound does: consequently in English words it would seem somewhat inelegant. Its non-initial form is the same as the preceding, but lengthened by the addition of /?/ or ි to the consonant, as කේ ké (cay), මේ mé (may).

කාකුව, n. change of voice through fear, muttering.

කුවේණි, n. name of a noted female demon. It is said she was changed into the form of a bitch when විජය රජ first arrived in Ceylon.
