ප, n. The first letter of the labials or fifth class of consonants corresponding to the letter P.

ප්‍රති, prefix, (signifying) in lieu of, වෙනුවට against, විරුඬ, හිලව්වට; severally, එක එක; towards, to, දෙස; exchange, මාරුවට; again, නැවත; belonging to, corresponding, අඩංගු එකඟ. [Sometimes ප්‍රති in composition.]

ම, n. The last letter—the nasal—of the fifth class of consonants, corresponding to the letter M.

මකර, n. myth. a sea monster with the head and fore legs of an antelope and body and tail of a fish,—it is the emblem of the god of love; as a figure in the zodiac it corresponds to Capricorn: see මකරය &c. above.

ය, n. The first of the sixth or miscellaneous class of consonants. It is a semivowel corresponding to the letter Y.
