අ කරණීය, a. that ought not to be done, improper, අකටයුතු: impracticable, කළනොහැ කිවූ.

අ කර්‍තව්‍යය, n. what ought not to be done, impropriety, අකටයුතු‍ දේ‍.

අ කර්‍මණ්‍ය, a. not to be done, improper, අකටයුතු; inactive, dormant. See අකර්‍මක.

අ කළමනාව, n. what is not to be done, impropriety, නොකට යුතු දේ.

අ කාර්‍ය්‍ය, a. that ought not to be done, improper, අකටයුතු.

අ කෘත, a. not done, unaccomplished, නොකළ.

අ කෘතඥ, a. (ඥ knowing), regardless of what was done, ungrateful. E. S.

අ ච්ඡාදනයකරනවා, v. t. (අ priv.,ච් euphonic, ඡාදන covering), to cover, වසනවා, don, clothe, අඳිනවා.

අ චේෂ්ටිත, a. unaccomplished, not done, කරලා නැති.

අ විහිත, a not done, not accomplished, ඉෂ්ට නුණ.

අකට යුතු, a. that ought not to be done, improper, අයුතු,

අකුරකින් විදිනවා, v. to shoot with a small stone for augury. This is done by taking stones between the two fore-fingers and projecting them against the bark and leaves of trees and then predicting coming events according to the marks made by the stones.

අත පැන් වත්කරනවා, or වක්කරනවා, v. to pour water into the hand: B. often done to confirm a vow or ratify the marriage ceremony.

අතර මං කරනවා, v t. lit. leave on the road or journey; fig. leave in the lurch, desert, abandon.

අත් අරිනවා, v. t. to abandon, forsake, leave, relinquish; leave out, omit.
