අෂ්ට ධර්‍මය, n. the law of eight, viz. the eight essentials for becoming a Buddha: 1 manhood, 2 the male sex, 3 merit, 4 to have seen a Buddha, 5 ascetic condition, monkhood, 6 virtuousness, 7 aspiration to Buddhahood, 8 a strenuous heart for it.

අ සම්මත, a. dissenting, dissentient, recusant. discordant, එකඟනැති, එකමුතුනැති.

අක්ෂය, n. a die used in gambling; wheel, චක්‍රය; organ of sense, ඉන්ද්‍රියය; seed or nut called මාෂ (see අක්ෂමාලාව); a weight of sixteen මාෂ seeds; law, නීතිය; law-suit, නඩුව.

අ නිමිෂ ලෝචන, n. pl. or a. unblinking eyes, නොපියනඇස්; having unblinking or never-closing eyes, ඇස් නොපියන, ever-wakeful, beepless, පිබිද සිටින. See අනිද්‍ර.

අ භක්ෂණීය, අ භක්ෂ්‍ය, a. uneatable, inedible, කෑ මට නුසුදුසු.

අ ප්‍රසිඬය, n. privacy; obscure condition; ප්‍රසිඬනැතිකම.
