ආ පාතය, n. falling, sudden fall, හදිසිවැටීම; throwing down, හෙළාදැමීම; instant, මො හොත.

ආශ්‍රම, ආශ්‍රමික, a. monastic, conventual, තාපස.

ආනන්තර්‍ය්‍ය කර්‍ම, n. pl. deeds or results without an interval, i. e. the five අකුසල් which are to be punished in the very next life, viz. matricide, patricide, the murder of a Rahat, shedding blood of a Buddha, schism (amongst the priesthood, සංඝභේදය), and the eight කුසල් or අෂ්ටසමාපති which are to be at once rewarded.

ආ ස්තරණය, ආ ස්තරය, a. anything spread out: a sheet, carpet, bed, ඇතිරිල්ල &c.; elephant's covering, housings or trapping.
