ඇනෙනවා, v. i. of අනිනවා: to pierce, penetrate, run in, prick; ගොඩ ඇනෙනවා, get aground; සිතට ඇනෙන‍‍වා, fig. pierce the heart, pain the mind; pret. ඇනුණා; v. n. ඇනීම.

ඇත් දම, n. elephant-chain.

ඇද ගැහෙන‍වා, ඇදවෙන‍වා, v. i. to become crooked or deflected, to warp.

ඇසිරිල්ල, n. fr. අසුරනවා: piling up, arranging, arrangement &c.

ඇද කුදය, n. deflection and blend, obliquity, flaw.

ඇසිරවීම, v. n. of අසුරුවනවා: piling up &c.

ඇඹුල්වෙනවා, v. i. to become acid or sour.

ඇතා, n. tusked elephant; pl. ඇත්තු, acc. ඇතුන්.

ඇ, n. The third vowel of the alphabet, though in some grammars and vocabularies this and the next are placed last of all. Its sound is a modification of අ, and like the sound of a in fat, bat, mat. Its non-initial form is (ැ) following the consonant it vocalizes, as කැබ්, cab.
