ඇද, a. crooked, bent, bant, oblique, contorted.

ඇ, n. The third vowel of the alphabet, though in some grammars and vocabularies this and the next are placed last of all. Its sound is a modification of අ, and like the sound of a in fat, bat, mat. Its non-initial form is (ැ) following the consonant it vocalizes, as කැබ්, cab.

ඇවිලි අවනවා, v. lit. to curse curses, imprecate curses, දෙස්තබනවා.

ඇණ ඉඳීම, ඇණ තියාගැනීම, v. n. squatting.

ඇතුළු ගෙය, n. inner house, viz, room, කාමරය.

ඇතිනී, ඇතින්න, ඇතින්නී, n. female elephant; pl. ඇතිනියෝ, ඇතින්නියෝ.

ඇට්ටමුරුත්තාව, n. surfeit, glut, වැඩිවූතෘප්තිය.

ඇවෑම, n. E. of අභාවය: demise, decease, අප වත්වීම.

ඇසිකිනිය, n. pupil of the eye, කළුඉංගිරියාව,

ඇවිද්දවනවා, v. c. to make to walk about or march; pret. ඇවිද්දෙවුවා; v. n. ඇවිද්දවීම.
