අකුරු කරවනවා, v. t. to teach letters or reading, අකුරු උගන්වනවා.

අෂ්ට ධර්‍මය, n. the law of eight, viz. the eight essentials for becoming a Buddha: 1 manhood, 2 the male sex, 3 merit, 4 to have seen a Buddha, 5 ascetic condition, monkhood, 6 virtuousness, 7 aspiration to Buddhahood, 8 a strenuous heart for it.

අලු කෙසෙල්, අලු කෙහෙල්, n. pl. or a. ash-plantains; ash-plantain.

අටඟ මිණ, n. (අට අඟ) octagonal gem: one was given by Sakra to king Kusa, which, applied to his face, removed its ugliness and made it beautiful. so that his wife received him again.

අවුලනවා, v. t. to pick up (as birds &c.), collect, එකතුකරනවා; shine බබළනවා; pret. ඇවුලුවා; v. n. ඇවුලුම්.

අග රොන්, n. pl. (අග fire, රොන් dust) sparks, ගිනි පුපුරු.

අභ්‍යාස ශාලාව, n. training school, practising hall.
