අෂ්ට ධර්‍මය, n. the law of eight, viz. the eight essentials for becoming a Buddha: 1 manhood, 2 the male sex, 3 merit, 4 to have seen a Buddha, 5 ascetic condition, monkhood, 6 virtuousness, 7 aspiration to Buddhahood, 8 a strenuous heart for it.

අක්මා දැවිල්ල, n. inflammation of the liver, hepatitis.

අනු මිති, අනු මිත්‍යාකාර, a. (අනු according, මිති measuring, ආකාර), inferential, deductive, illative. E. S.

අනු ලෝම, අනු ලෝමික, a. lit. with the hair, viz. the way of–not against–the grain, in natural order, regular, අනුක්‍රමික. See ප්‍රති ලෝම.

අට පට්ටම්, n. pl. or a eight sides; eight-sided, octagonal.

අ ප්‍රවේසම්, a. incautious, careless, heedless, random.

අව මතිය, n. disesteem, contempt, scorn, සුළු කොට or නීචකොට සිතීම.

අ පත්වූ, a. departed, deceased, තුරන්වූ, මැරුණු.

අත ළමයා, n. infant in arms, babe.
