ය, n. The first of the sixth or miscellaneous class of consonants. It is a semivowel corresponding to the letter Y.

යම, යමයා, n. යුෂ්මත්ශබ්දය, යුෂ්මද්වාචකය, යුෂ්මද්වාච්‍යය, n. gram. second-person word, viz. a word which expresses the second person, as Thou, Ye, and in their cases, as Thy, Your &c.
