වි·රෝධනය, වි·රෝධය, n. opposing, opposition, obstructing, obstruction, contravention, see විරුද්ධකම; the last year of the Indian cycle of sixty.

වර්‍දධිත, a. increased, grown, improved, prospered, දියුණුවූ

වළ·ලනවා, v. t. to bury, inter; pret. වැළලුවා, වළලැවා; v. n. වැළලීම.

වංගුකරනවා, v. t. to bend, නමනවා, make crooked, distort, ඇදකරනවා.

වරණයා, n. tusked elephant, ඇතා.

වස්වසනවා, v. i. (වස් the rains, වසනවා dwell), to sojourn during the rainy season. According to B. the monk has no settle home, but during the rains may remain with a householder. Whilst there it is usual for him to give religious instruction to the inmates and others who attend.
