වඳුරා, n. wanderoo or large monkey, of which the four species in Ceylon are: කළුවඳුරා, black monkey of the low country, preabytes cephalopterus; මහවඳුරා, great monkey of the upper country p. ursinuas; also p. thersites; and p. piramus, in the North and East Provinces.

විසඹවෙනවා, v. i. to become wicked or vicious, නපුරු or දුශ්ශීල වෙනවා.

ව්‍රිහි, n. rice in the husk, paddy, විහි, වි.

වසයා, n. mas. (වස poisonous), vicious or bad one (man or animal).

වනාජයා, n. (වන අජයා), forest goat, wild goat, වල්එළුවා.

වැඩි, v. adj. pret. of වැඩෙනවා; increased, grown. වැඩුණු.

විලි, a. wild, see වලි.

වි·රේචනයවෙනවා, v. i. (of the bowels), to become purged or relaxed, to purge, අධිකලෙස පාචනවෙනවා.

වරදකාර, a. who does or do wrong, wrongful, faulty, blamable, culpable, criminal, guilty.

වේදය, n. H. sacred Scriptures, said to have been revealed by Brahma, preserved by tradition and at length compiled in their present form by Vyasa, a celebrated saint.
