සූත්‍රය, n. (සූත්‍ර to thread, string together). a thread, නූල: fig. line, පේළිය, verse පදය, rule, canon, නියමය, decree, නියොගය: (then in general) axiom, maxim, precept, formula, principle, theorem; sp any declaration or discourse of Buddha: machine, implement, යන්ත්‍රය.

සුරුංගාව, n. breach or mine through a wall &c., කැණපුහිල.

සංකර, සංකරික, a. (සං together කර doing), mixed, hybrid, මිශ්‍රවූ, auspicious, ශුභවූ.

සන්‍ධී·ස්වරස·ධාරි, a. (ධාරි bearing), secreting joint oil, synovial, සන්‍ධි තෛල දෙන.

සම්ප්‍ර·සාරණය, n., (සං together, ප්‍රසාරණ opening, spreading), expanding the letters ඉ, උ, සෘ, සෲ into their respective semivowels ය, ව, ර, ල; mutual substitution of the letters ඉ, උ, සෘ, සෲ and their respective semivowels ය, ව, ර, ල.

සතර·ප්‍රති·සන්‍ධිය, n. (ප්‍රතිසන්‍ධිය reunion), the four modes in which beings re-appear or come again into manifest, existence, viz. born from a womb, from eggs, as worms, or by chance, which latter is a supernatural or spontaneous embodiment called ඕපාපාතික.
