අ කර්‍කශ, a. not severe, not harsh, mild, මෘදු.

අ කෝමල , a. lit. not soft or gentle: hard, rough, harsh, තද.

අ ගහන, a. not dense or crowded, sparse, ගන සැරනැති, විරල.

අ භ්‍රමණ, a. non-revolving, stationary, fixed (stars), ගමන් නොකරන, අචල.

අ මධුර, a. unsavoury, distasteful; fig. harsh, unpleasant, unmusical; අමිහිරි.

අ මෘදු, a. not soft, hard, harsh, inclement, insensible, මෘදුනැති, තද.

අ විරල, a. not sparse, dense, close, ගනසැර, ගහන.

අ ශිෂ්ට, a. ill-bred, coarse, rude, boorish, vulgar, ශිෂ්ටාචාර නැති; uncivilized, barbarian, වනචර.

අංගාරක, අංගාර, n. ap. of Mars, as like ගිනිඅඟුරු in colour, අඟහරුවා.

අක්ෂි පුට ස්නායුව, n. cartilage of the eyelid, tarsus, ඇසිපියේ නහරය.

අඟහරු තරුව, අඟහරුවා, n. the planet Mars.

අතපසු or අතපහු වෙනවා, v. i. to become deferred, &c., get behindhand or in arrears.

අති වාක්‍ය, අති වාදය, n. harsh language, abuse, රෞද්‍ර කියමන, බැණුම.

අනන්තා, a twining plant with stinging hairs, Tragia involucrata, වැල්කහඹිලියා; Indian sarsaparilla, Hemidesmus indicus, ඉරමුසු; a species of grass, Andropogon contortus, හෙළඊතණ.

අන්තඃ කල්පය, n. a certain number of years in Buddhism: according to B. man's age increases by imperceptible degrees from ten years to an Asankhya (අසංඛ්‍ය) and then decreases in the same way to ten years: the period required for this is an Antahkalpa. See අසංඛ්‍ය.
