අට සමවත්, n. pl. the eight attainments or devout meditations. See අෂ්ටසමාපත්ති.

කා දමනවා, v. t. to eat up, devour.

තපෝ·ධනයා, ‍තපෝ·මූර්‍තතියා, n. (ධන wealth, මූර්‍තති form), devout ascetic, earnest devotee.

භක්ත, a. devoted to, devout, භක්තික; served, worshipped.

භක්තිවන්ත, a. devout, pious, religious, devoted.

රකුසා, n. demon, fiend, hobgoblin, — supposed to haunt cemeteries &c. and devour human beings, see රාක්‍ෂසයා.

ෂඩහිඳා, n. sixfold knowledge, possessed only by Buddha and Rahats, attained by devout meditation, viz. divine perception, supernatural knowledge and hearing, remembrance of pre-existences, knowledge of the hearts of others and of the various kinds of Riddhi (ඍඬි) or power of ascending and passing through the air.

සමන්ත·භුජ, n. (භුජ් to eat, devour), all-devourer, viz. fire, ගින්න.

සමාධානය, සමාධිය, සමාධි·යෝගය, n. (සං with, ආ to, ධා to hold), keeping the mind and thoughts intent on, composure, reverie, concentrated and devout meditation, see ධ්‍යාන ය; religious vow, බාරය; reconciling, සමා දානකිරීම.

සැදැහැමත්, a. imbued with faith, religious, pious, devout, භක්තිවන්ත.

සිල්වත්, a. B., observant of religious precepts, devout, meritorious.

සොසානිකාංගය, n. (අංගය), one of the තෙළෙස් ධූතාංග: the ordinance of the B. P. which enjoins devout meditation in a burial ground at midnight.
