අව තාර, අව තාරාකාර, a. (ආකාර), apparitional, ghostly, phantom, spectral.

අවතාරය, n. apparition, ghost, fantasm, spectre, sprite, manes, ප්‍රේතයා; in ancient usage: descent or incarnation of a god, as of Vishnu in the form of a fish, tortoise, boar, man-lion (නෘසිංහ), dwarf, the two Rāmas, Krishna, Buddha, Kalki &c.; also for අවතරණය.

ගෙ·වලයා, n, house-ghost, apparition.

ප්‍රේත·කථාව, n. ghost-story.

ප්‍රේතයා, n. ghost, goblin, sprite, manes; fig. filthy person, කැතයා.

පේත·සෙය්‍යාව, ‍ශය්‍යාව, n. lit. ghost-lying, viz. the posture in which ප්‍රේතයෝ beep, i. e. on the back, as it is supposed the bones would pierce through the skin if they lay on‍ either side.

මත්තේ·පණ·දෙනවා, v. to die at the feet of, give up the ghost on the spot.

මලින·මුඛයා, n. ghost, goblin, ප්‍රේතයා; blackfaced monkey, වඳුරා.

රාත්‍රී·චරයා, n. (චර to go), night-goer, night-walker, viz. evil spirit, ghost, ප්‍රේතයා &c.; thief, හොරා; guard, sentinel, රැකවලා.

රාත්‍රීංචරයා, n. (රාත්‍රිං night, චර to go), night-walker. viz. ghost, goblin, ප්‍රේතයා.

හොල්මන, n. shouting, shout, කෑගැසීම, ඝෝෂාව, supernatural noise, noise made by ghosts or demons.
