අටි වඩනවා, v. to increase desire, enamour, entice, whet the appetite or desire; pret. අටි වැඩුවා; v. n. අටිවැඩීම.

අඩුවැඩිවෙන‍වා, v. i. to diminish and increase, wax and wane; remit (of fever &c.)

අන්තඃ කල්පය, n. a certain number of years in Buddhism: according to B. man's age increases by imperceptible degrees from ten years to an Asankhya (අසංඛ්‍ය) and then decreases in the same way to ten years: the period required for this is an Antahkalpa. See අසංඛ්‍ය.

අභි වර්‍දධිත, a. increased, improved, advanced, cultivated, වැඩිවූ, දියුණුවූ.

අභි වෘඬිකරනවා, v. t. to increase, improve, promote, වර්‍ධනයකරනවා, සඵලකරනවා.

අභි වෘඬිය, n. increase, improvement, progress, prosperity, දියුණුව, සඵලකම.

අභි වෘඬි‍වෙනවා, v. i. to increase, improve, prosper, වැඩිවෙනවා &c., සඵලවෙනවා.

අස්වැන්න, අස්සැන්න, n. crop, yield, produce, harvest, increase, පලදාව.

ආ හත, a. increased, වැඩිකරපු; hurt, අනතුරුවූ; new, අලුත්.

ආයු ‍බෝ වන්, n. lit. (your) age increase: farewell, good-bye.

උත්සිකත, a. elated, haughty, උඩඟු; increased, වැඩුණු.

ඒධීත, a. increased, enlarged, වැඩිවුණා &c.

ඔද වඩනවා, v. to increase sap or juice or pleasure or pride; v. n. ඔදවැඩීම.

ඕජෝවර්‍ධනයකරනවා, v. (ඕජො‍් fr. ඕජස්), to increase power or splendour, බලය or තේජස වැඩිකරනවා.

කල්පය, n. a period said to be equal to a day of Brahma which equals 4,320,000,000 solar years: it is the Sakwala or world period, which is divided into four parts, viz. its formation, its duration, its destruction and its non-entity until the commencement of its reformation. It is difficult, however, to reconcile the various statements one with another, since during the Kalpa the age of man is said to gradually increase from ten years to an asankhya and again to diminish gradually to ten years: an asankhya being about the twentieth power of a million.
