යාවක, a. (fr. යාච් to ask, beg), requesting, begging, ඉල්ලන,හිඟන.

යහළු, a. friendly, familiar, intimate.

යැපෙනවා, v. i. to suffice, be enough, සෑහෙනවා; pret. යැපුණා; v. n. යැපීම.

යමා·හල, n. hall or abode of Yama, යමරජුගේ ශාලාව.

යවහන්, n. the combination of ය, ව, හ, න්: when any of these letters is the final letter of the lines of a stanza it is considered the rule that the penultimate letter also should be the same in all four lines.

ය·හද, a. (හද for හෘද), iron-hearted, hard-hearted, හිත දැඩිවූ.

යටට, යටින්, ad. below, down, downwards, from under, underneath.

යොමුවෙනවා, n. i. to become concentrated &c., engrossed with.
