වේදාංගය, n. (වේද අංගය), branch of knowledge or of the Veda; there are six such regarded as subordinate parts of the Veda, viz. ශික්‍ෂා ශාස්ත්‍රය, learning, sp. pronunciation; කල්ප ශාස්ත්‍රය, religious ceremonies; ව්‍යාකරණ ශා ස්ත්‍රය, grammar; ඡන්‍දශ්ශාස්ත්‍රය, prosody; ජෝතිශ්‍ය ශාස්ත්‍රය, astronomy, and නිරුක්ති ශාස්ත්‍රය, glossography or science of explanation.

වේලා·පත්කඩය, n. record of the time of birth of a child.

වි·ක්‍රමාන්‍ථිය, a. (·අන්‍ථිත), having power or heroism, mighty, මහත් බල ඇති.

වි·රේකකරනවා, v. t. to purge, පාචනකරවනවා.

වි ජිතව්‍ය, a. conquerable or that should be conquered, පරාජය කළ හැකිවූ, or යුතුවූ.
