ශස්‍ය·ශුක, n. awn or beard of corn.

ශත·පත්‍රයා, n. peacock, මොනරා; crane, කොකා. Bot.

ශුන්‍ය·හස්න, a. empty-handed, අත්හිස්වූ, හිස් අත් ඇති.

ශ්‍රද්ධාකාමි, a. (ශ්‍රත් faith, ධා to hold), devoted to faith, see ශ්‍රද්ධාවත්.

ශක·වර්‍ෂය, n. ශක: a term applied to any king from the beginning of whose reign the years are reckoned, so that ශකවර්‍ෂය is the Saka year or era, of which in this කලියුගය there have been three, instituted severally by the kings යුධිෂ්ඨිර, වික්‍රමාදිත්‍ය, and ශාලිවාහන; this last is the present era which began A. D. 78.

ශල්‍ය·ධාරි, a. spiniferous, spiny, කටුදරන.

ශිලා·ජය, n. lit. reek-product, viz. storax or bennoin, so called because it was supposed to be a product of rocks, ගල්මද; rock moss, ගල් සෙවෙල්.

ශ්‍රී·වත්සයා, ශ්‍රී·වත්සාංකයා, n. (·අංක mark), ap of Vishnu, as marked on the breast.

ශිඵාව, n. fibrous root; spikenard, ජටාමාංස; turmeric, කහ; river, ගඟ.

ශෘංගාරය, n. the emotion of sexual love, රාගය, coition, සංවාසය; cloves, කරාබු; fragrant powder, සුවඳ කුඩු වර්‍ගයක්.
