අ සමුචිත, a. (අ, සං, උචිත), incongruous, නුහුරු, unsuitable, නුසුදුසු.

අවතාරය, n. apparition, ghost, fantasm, spectre, sprite, manes, ප්‍රේතයා; in ancient usage: descent or incarnation of a god, as of Vishnu in the form of a fish, tortoise, boar, man-lion (නෘසිංහ), dwarf, the two Rāmas, Krishna, Buddha, Kalki &c.; also for අවතරණය.

අලුයම්, a. of the daybreak, dawning.

අභි සංස්කාරය, n. (අභි well, සං: putting together or doing), collecting, preparing, පිළි යෙළකිරීම; completing, perfecting, සම්පූර්‍ණ කිරීම; purifying, embellishing, සැරසීම; apprehension, conception, තේරුම්ගැනීම. See සංස්කාරය.

අනු රාවය, n. echo (see අනු නාදය).

අනුල්ලංඝන, a. (අන් උල්ල:), not overstepping or going beyond, ඉක්ම නොයන, not transgressing, කඩ නොකරන.

අ පුත්‍රක, a. having no son, පුතෙක්නැති childless, දරුවන් නැති.

අර්‍ථකයා, අර්‍ථයා, n. asker, requester, ඉල්ලන්නා; beggar, හිඟන්නා; servant who awakes the king &c., අවදිකරන්නා.

අ කෘතඥ, a. (ඥ knowing), regardless of what was done, ungrateful. E. S.
