අධෝ ගත, a. gone down, descended, පහත බැස්ස, degraded, අධම, නීච.

අව තීර්‍ණ, a. descended, බැස්ස; crossed, එතරවූ, මෙතරවූ; incarnated, ලොවපහළවූ, මුර්‍තතිමත්.

අස්ත, a. cast, thrown, දමනලද; set, descended, බැස්ස; left, ඉතුරු.

ගංගා ධරයා, n. lit. bearer or holder of the Ganges, viz. the ocean, සමුද්‍රය; ap. of Siva on whose head, it is said, the Ganges first descended and continued for some time amongst his hair.

ගෞතම, n. proper name of Buddha and of the race from which he descended; name of a sage or rishi, from whom the lineage of Buddha probably derived their name.

බැස, p. pl. of බසිනවා: having descended, descending.

බැස්ස, v. adj. pret. descended, subsided, (of the sun &c.) set.

භාගීරථී, n. ap. of the Ganges, so called, it is said, because it first descended from heaven in answer to the prayers of king භගීරථ.

භාරත, n. name of a prince or descendent of භරත; name of a H. poem: see මහාභරත.

රාජාවලිය, n. (රාජ ආ:), line of kings,genealogy of kings; name of a book which gives the history of the Sinhalese kings descended from විජය.

ශාක්‍ය·කුලය, n. (ශක් to be able), the Mighty or Sākya race, a people so called who took their rise by separating from the kingdom of lkshwāku or Okkāka, the first king of the Hindus. They followed the four sons of their king into banishment, and finding an unoccupied district built there as their capital the city Kapilavastu. From a prince of this race after many generations Gautama Buddha was descended.

සුර·ලෝකාවතිර්‍ණ, a. (අවතීර්‍ණ), descended from the divine world, දිව්‍ය‍ලෝකෙයන් බැස්ස.

සුර්‍ය්‍ය·වංශය, n. solar race or dynasty, a royal race said to be descended from the sun.
